About

My name is JtMarquis. I am a philosopher, social critic, and ordained minister. My work basically consists of the application of philosophical techniques to the problems of religion and culture. Summarily, I believe that mainstream institutions are at the root of all man’s problems, both cultural and spiritual, and my interest is in exposing the corruption and falsehood that drives those institutions in their usury of the general populace to achieve their own ends, ends which inevitably have nothing to do with their proposed reasons for existing in the first place. As a spiritual adviser, I try to help people realize how much wider and deeper the spiritual life can be when the mainstream formulas are abandoned in order to come to ones own higher realizations based upon the wealth of information that is available outside the established systems of belief. As a social critic and philosopher, I am often called a Nihilist, which is not true, strictly speaking, but which also doesn’t cause me any offense. A Nihilist, strictly speaking, is simply one who does not believe that any existing institution properly serves the needs of a true progress in any given human endeavor. By that definition, I will certainly confess to membership in that club. My two blog sites deal with this two-fold division of interests. Transcendental Cosmology deals with my studies and writings on religion, while The New Frontier deals with philosophical and sociological controversies.
